I like some rap music... Eminem's a genius, so's Dre. I love Snoop's sound but his lyrics are just terrible. There's lots of ace hip-hop stuff on this Lyricist Lounge compilation I have - there's a track by Sarah Jones, 'Blood', which is one of the best songs I have EVER heard. 2Pac's great - 'California Love'! - as are the Wu Tang Clan (though don't have much of their stuff). I really want to hear some stuff by Princess Superstar, she's meant to be ace. Missy Elliott's fantastic.

Puff Daddy is an utter twat. Biggie... no talent. Jay-Z really pisses me off. (That 'Girls...' song... wtf is all that about?)

Is DMX rap?? I'm guessing 'yes'. He's cool. A lot of people (I know)namecheck that guy, uh, fat guy, oh God, um, Jay-Z. But I'm not altogether keen meself!

Mos Def
The Roots
Wu Tang
Dilated Peoples
Outkast
Busta Rhymes... is OK

I find I get irritated really easily by it though.

Can't believe I forgot Outkast. The Dungeon Family LP - sort of Outkast and their mates - is the bomb too.

I don't listen to rap all that much coz I'm more of an Alternative Girl. When I do listen to rap/hip hop, I like Nelly, Toya, Destiny's Child, Eve, MaryJay Bleige, Lil Kim, Eminem is alright sometimes, some old skool like Tupac, house of pain ect.. (Everlast sucks).

Rappers I totally dislike are:

DMX- I get a headache, only like 1 song
Mistikal- uughhhhh his voice gets on my nerves
Ja Rule- same goes for this one
Juvenile- eww they're just plain dirty
Genuwine- blahhh, he's gay
Isley Brothers- they're contagious

Ohh my bad, it's "R&B"

Like I mentioned, I don't really listen that much to this category of music, so please excuse my mistake.

Peace

4 Nas
5 Jay Z

As for rappers with no talent and style:

Well, I'm impressed, thefreedesigner. You seem to like rap a bit.
As for rappers, guess I'd have to go with Nelly(?), Mystical, Dre, Jay-Z , Eminem etc etc. I prefer hip-hop though

Oh i dont like it at all

I've tended to like rap through constant exposure to it. Like all the years I've spent in arguments with friends about all these artists like that I'd never heard of (Ja Rule, Jaheim, DMX, Beanie Siegel), and I just kind of dismissed it.

But when you hear it like for 2 years constant, you just get a greater appreciation. Like I said, I still get irritated by it far more easily than I would by something with lots of loud guitars in it!!!

Will Dr Dre ever make the Hall of Fame? Cause he should.
