1. Just wanted to know if there are any fans here. I like a lot of her songs, but mainly the old ones like Honky tonk girl and coal miner's daughter.
2. I got this really funny but old story from a friend. I was
LORETTA'S VOTE GOES ASTRAY...
Loretta Lynn's vote gave her a lot more than she bargained for earlier this year.
The country star heard somebody banging on her front door trying to get in. Loretta called her manager and said, "Call the police, there's somebody pounding on my door!"
The "intruders," in fact, were the police, and they were there to rescue Lynn.
She had been watching CMT and had picked up the phone to call in and vote for her video of Country In My Jeans.
Trouble was, instead of dialling the "900" number, she dialled "911" said 'I vote for Country in My Jeans' and hung up.
The 911 operator figured she was in trouble and dispatched the police to Loretta's house!
#1 reason why a redneck should not try to vote for her own song....
Maybe Loretta just needs some bigger buttons on her phone.
On an off topic note, my mom was in the movie as an extra for the "Coal Miners Daughter" it was filmed at a far (that ironically is going on right now) in Wise County..... VA-KY Fair, way back in the 70s.
No, Jack White is producing some of her new album. Yes, I'm serious. I think they've become good friends - Loretta and Jack & Meg White, according to what I've been reading.
Thanks. I didn't know that.
Rocketta ---> Cold Mountain WILL have authentic Appalachian music. White Stripes I believe are only working on the original song. Like U2 did with Gangs of New York last year. Also I thought White Stripes has a bit of folk music origins?
