I ordered a drink at Applebees the other day, the guy never asked for my I.D.
I bought some Sherry from the liquor store for cooking, the girl didn't ask for my I.D.
I went to the liquor store for a party today, and the guy never asked for my I.D.
I'm 22. Everyone tells me, if anything, I look more like 18 and i don't look that different from my graduation picture. I've never been to either of those liquor stores before and I've never had that waiter before.
When I worked in a liquor store, I carded anyone who looked under 30 - I flattered a lot of 30-somethings. So what's the deal? I'm starting to get paranoid that everyone's lying to me and I'm going to look like a hag by the time I'm 30.
I look younger than my age as well, I'm 23... I still look about 19. Before I used to always get IDed... lately, I haven't had anyone ask me: I've bought smokes, beer, stuff from the liquor store, and ordered drinks at the bar and club over the weekend. Maybe they finally figured out you and I are legal age!?
The only time I was ever asked my age in a pub was one week after my eighteenth birthday!
(Eighteen being the legal age for buying/consuming alcohol in Britain)
Man, proud man, drest in a little brief authority, most ignorant of what he’s most assured,
his glassy essence, like an angry ape, plays such fantastic tricks before high heaven,
as makes the angels weep.
Some people are just shy about asking ID. I was one (always afraid of being laugh at) of those and unless I had a really big doubt about the client's age, I didn't ask for the ID. Also, one week after I quit my job as a cashier in a grocery, my former boss told me she got a warning because I sold cigarettes to "spy" teenager. Lucky me I quit before that, I would have had a big spanking.
I'm 21 and I'm not exaggerating when I say that I look 13. I always get asked for ID... I even get asked for ID when I'm in England and you have to be 18 or over to drink there.
But yesterday was an exception. I was in Wal-Mart buying Smirnoff Ices and she wasn't gonna ask me for ID. I could see one of the other people who worked there starring at the cashier cos she didn't look as if she was gonna card me so I just handed my ID over and she looked at it. I didn't want her to get into trouble or anything. She was stupid though. The penalties for selling alcohol to somebody underage is way to high to take risks.
