Incredible Photos Of Muslims Celebrating Eid Al-Fitr Around The World

http://www.buzzfeed.com/sirajdatoo/i...ng-eid-al-fitr

Millions of Muslims around the world are today celebrating Eid al-Fitr, the celebration that comes after the holy month of Ramadan, when Muslims believe the Qurían was revealed to the prophet Muhammad.

Since the prayers take place so early in the morning, itís a little easy to get distracted. This kid, in Indonesia, was mesmerised by a remote-controlled camera flying overhead.

But itís fair to say that Eid is a celebration for the whole family.

The importance of the morning prayer can be demonstrated by the lengths many go to in order to attend the prayer session.

To be fair Pureracket I really don't get why someone with your signature would respect a religion like Islam. Being huge and getting stabbed in the face if you oppose to it aren't good enough reasons.

The belief that man is an irresolute creature pulled this way and that by two forces of equal strength, alternately winning and losing the battle for his soul; the conviction that human life is nothing more than an uncertain struggle between heaven and hell; the faith in two opposed entities, Satan and Christ - all this was bound to engender those internal discords in which the mind, excited by the incessant fighting, stimulated as it were by the constant promises and threats, ends up by giving in and prostitutes itself to whichever of the two combatants has been more obstinate in its pursuit. Life isn't black and white, it's gold.

Neither is it yours Pure. Why do you, as a proud gay man, persist in defending and glorifying your biggest enemy?

Re: Incredible Photos Of Muslims Celebrating Eid Al-Fitr Around The World

Edward and Sammo, I find your responses valid. However, I'm focusing on the pics much, much more than the religion. Other than the basic tenants that we all have been taught about Islam, I can't profess to know much more. I can appreciate the photos, though. I love ritual, historical structures, and colors. All of these pics represent that.

If I were to stand against all the structures and agencies that openly deny my selfhood, I don't have to go all the way to Islam in order to show protest. I could start in my own neighborhood, state, and country.
