schadenfreude

I just need to vent. I don't understand why some people (am thinking of someone in particular who i work with) get such a kick out of other people's difficulties. This guy I work with is the most unsympathetic guy.. he will vent to me and ask my opinion about stuff related to work, and talk about it repetitively, yet if I have a problem or my office is being difficult about something he's like "oh, tough luck" but in a kind of superior "huh, they like me more cos I don't have so many difficulties." It is true, they like him more because he's a guy (am in all-male office) so can talk shit about cars and women and drinking. Man it is driving me nuts.

Thanks I just might do that. He's pretty bad, changing the subject all the time so the conversation is almost always about him or his interests. He will listen to me, but often just say "hey, that sucks" and then something like "hey, you know where I can buy beef jerky wholesale??" AND he tells me obvious stuff like he thinks I'm stupid..... arggggg The problem is he is the only other english-speaker in the town I am in... so we are stuck with each other.

Wow....I'd get some intensive language classes STAT, lol.

Some people are selfish like that....but yeah, definently blow him off. Or when he's bitching, just smile and nod, or look completely absorbed in your work, and don't pay attention. Maybe he'll get the point, lol.

I'm out of here in a couple of months, so it's ok. I can speak a bit of the local language (a little bit)... it's more about finding people who feel comfortable being friends with The Foreigner. thanks for the advice.. i'll try abrupt subject changes on him when he's talking about his work problems.

(had to use that as there is no vomiting face) don't fancy that idea much, however! his pride and joy is a car, so a little creative keying might be an idea.... shall i key the kanji for "incessant subject changer man" on his bonnet?

nahh

specifically sharpen yuor key because paint coatings are surprisingly tough

starting from the rear fender, drag yuor key all along the side of his car in a straight line, just as yuo near the end of the front fender, finish the line with a violent jaggy pattern, just to let him know that it's personal

then, carve out on his hood in large letters "yuor dick is shit, fuckass"

trust me, he'll have a heart attack when he returns to his ride

feel free to implement my idea, there's no royalty charge
