Question How's your typing speed?

I can touch type and my typing speed is about 70 WPM. But I sometimes get stuck with the punctuation marks.

What about you?

My speed used to be 50 words a minute, but that was a couple years ago when I tested myself on some program, and I've gotten faster since then. I'm faster then any of my friends, but as far as I know none of them are exactly typists for a living

Well I learnt to touch type on one of those old typewriters. Does anyone know which ones I'm talking about? Oh they were hell to use, and hurt your fingers after awhile. Computer keyboards are a breeze compared to them. Well since then, it's proven really useful for me to be able to touch type, especially when I was doing uni assignments or just typing letters for my parents. I find it really annoying when people look at the keyboard to type; I always think, it's not that hard, just memorise the keyboard once and you won't have to look at it ever again.

Last time I took a test (a couple months ago) I was at exactly 67 WPM.

I have a friend though, who types at over 85 WPM. It's not much of a difference I guess, but the sound of the keys when she types is non-stop. She's really fast.

You know, there is this neat website where you can see how fast you type and compete with others for the top ranking of the day, week, month and even year! I don't remember what I typed but I will find the link and post it on here for all.

Ok, I found a really good professional one. This isn't as fun as the one I mentioned where you can compete but it is more professional.

www.typingtest.com

I got:

Gross Speed: 73 WPM
Mistakes: 5 words
Net speed: 68 WPM
Accuracy: 93%

I did the "Fishing in Finland" choice.

I am very bad in typing since I always make mistakes and then correct them. I think I am average when in form!
