Beyond Two Souls - anyone playing this game?

It's from the same team behind Heavy Rain and Fahrenheit(Indigo Prophecy) so it plays out pretty similar to those games with an interactive movie kind of feel.
This game has further evolved from those and actually features Ellen Page and William Defoe in "game form" as the lead characters.
The reviews have been quite mixed to say the least but this game genre is always going to prove very divisive.
Personally, I love these kinds of games and I'm enjoying Beyond Two Souls so far
What do others think of it? Please no plot spoilers as I'm still under halfways through.

I'm actually watching a walkthrough of it by tetraninja, he's on part 27 and its during Jodie's Chinese expedition with the underwater submarine mission. I know a lot of people are already hating on the game with the whole 'gameplay' weakness, but from a walkthrough point of view it's glorious to watch - amazing graphics. I know Nick (tetraninja) knew of and played Heavy Rain and so loves the gameplay too. I think Ellen Page's performance is stellar. Excited to see what the ending will bring

It's out?!

I don't generally play video games outside of Tomb Raider and Topspin but Heavy Rain was so amazing, I was so keen for the next release!

Yay gonna buy it now

Re: Beyond Two Souls - anyone playing this game?

I played Heavy Rain and it was fun. Sadly the voice acting was horrid in HR. You would think a game that is mainly story driven would have amazing voice acting. I've been following B2S tho I didn't realize it was from the same people who made HR til the reviews came in. As much as I enjoyed HR I just don't want to go through that same gaming experience again. I'm a bit sad that I'll be missing out on EP and WD performances and the story seems really interesting.

Re: Beyond Two Souls - anyone playing this game?

I finished the game and I thought it was great.

Don't let game reviewers stop you from buying a game The average user review score is actually a lot higher than the 73 for Beyond on Metacritic. I would give this game an 8.5/10.

The thing is. People scream for innovation and different games but at the same time they continue buying Call of Duty (and reviewers continue praising this piece of shit) without giving different games like Heavy Rain or Beyond a chance.

Not that it really matters all that much but the graphics are absolutely phenomenal in this game. I have no idea how Quantic Dream managed to do that on almost 10 year old hardware.

I never do and I always check a wide selection of reviews. The gaming community needs to start giving reviews a little more credit rather than shitting on them because they gave a bad review to a game they like. Remember these are peoples actual jobs not some hobby. Giving a bad review for the lulz doesn't fly in a professional environment.

You are right the gaming market is full of FPS. Traditionally they were never my cup of tea but fairly recently I've been getting into them and they are actually very fun. There are innovative games out there that get great reviews but don't sell well. Then the cry for innovation gets crushed and they give us more COD because that's what sells. I think the demand for games like HR and B2S needs to be there before companies start taking more chances. Gaming companies are out to make a profit just like Hollywood that's why we get sequel after sequel.

Re: Beyond Two Souls - anyone playing this game?

Just completed the game earlier...wow, I really loved it!
Though a simple mis-timed button at the very end was enough for me to get the crap ending so I'lll have to replay the final chapter again

btw, Eric Winter as Ryan Clayton is the best thing about the game
lucky Ellen Page getting to snog that
