Unhappy 12 victims + shooter dead in DC Navy Yard shooting

At least seven people are dead after as many as three shooters dressed in military style uniforms opened fire in a rampage at the Washington Navy Yard on Monday, police said, spreading fear and chaos across the region as authorities tried to contain the incident.

D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier said in a mid-day news conference that one of the suspected shooters is dead, while authorities are looking for two other suspects wearing green and tan military style clothing.

About 16,000 military and civilian employees work in the complex’s 2.2 million square feet of offices. “The big concern for us right now is that we have potentially two other shooters that we have not located at this point,” Lanier said.

Lanier described one as a white male wearing what appeared to be a khaki tan military uniform and a beret, and carrying a handgun. She said police also are looking for a black man, about 50, wearing an olive military-style uniform, and possessing a “long gun.”

Update: they're supposedly still seeking a "person of interest" to question, and cleared another person.

Re: (AP now says 12) dead in DC Navy Yard shooting

Yet another one...And I'm pretty sure there are a lot of armed people in the vicinity when the gunmen stormed the building.

He looked deep into his eyes and said, "You're perfect."

"No, I'm not. But with you, I don't even care."

Beyond the tragic event one cannot fail to see the irony of this happening on a Navy Yard after the NRA propaganda that armed and trained grandma teachers could have prevented such attacks as those on the school children. Not that it will change anything. Short of somebody shooting himself through a maternity ward we have seen it all now.

- Caroline Wozniacki has never beaten a reigning world #1.
- Caroline Wozniacki has never beaten a top 5 player at a major.
- Caroline Wozniacki has not beaten a top 3 player en route to any of her 23 titles.
- Caroline Wozniacki has beaten two top 5 players en route to her 23 titles (#4 Zvonareva and #5 Schiavone)

-Her fans think she had very bad luck with her Grand Slam and Regular Tour draws.

Gosh, of course, it is NRA and guns to blame. Military ( and here we have a military shooting military in the middle of military ) should have less guns.

I don't think this happening in a military facility means it was presumed 2B safer. In the Fort Hood mass shooting by disgruntled Army psychiatrist Nidal Hasan, it turned out that ordinary soldiers couldn't carry weapons on base.

This type of post seems to be your calling card. You greatly simplify what people are saying, intentionally missing the point, and make a provocative, trollish statement. You do a disservice to your side's argument by not even presenting it properly. Idiot.

Re: 12 victims + shooter dead in DC Navy Yard shooting

People just need to accept mass shootings as part of life in American society. They are like bad car accidents or something. How can you change nothing and expect the result to be different?

I don't know. It is still oddly a news item that reopens barely a half-year old discussion about gun laws and what can be done about it. Nothing will be done about it. All the talk is just masturbation to fuel a false sense of active engagement.

In fact someone should start a thread so that we can start commemorating the n people who will die in the 2015 shooting in Americasburg, US of A.
Might as well do it while they are alive.
