Re: Simple luxuries

I'm with Sally on food. I'm not a big restaurant fan but I love cooking, and having the nicest ingredients to do so. I'm paying a lot for one of those local organic vegetable baskets that is shipped to my neighborhood café which sells local cheeses, bakes bread and pastries, etc.

When I travelled, I would always treat myself with one luxurious hotel. I'd prefer to couchsurf/stay in hostel for half the trip in order to treat myself to something great than stay in a so-so hotel for both weeks.

Yes. I get a CSA basket too! I'm a little miffed with mine this season though. The variety is sparse this year. If I have to see another zucchini ...

Re: Simple luxuries

The other night I treated myself to some Crown Royal. It's so delicious, but pretty pricey for broke hoes like myself.

I wasn't going to share this, but I pay like $20 on deodorant. It's ridiculous, but I swear, it's the best.

I've been using it since it's come out, and it really is fantastic.

I used to also have my laundry picked up and done for me, because I was too lazy to do it myself.

Re: Simple luxuries

Another thing I pay for in Amazon Prime. For $75/year I get 2nd day shipping and I buy a lot of stuff from there. The best thing is that there's an Amazon sort facility in my city so I really get overnight shipping in practice.

It can't be better than what I use.

People tell me all the time how nice I smell but it's just my deoderant.

In college, I used to buy new clothes instead of doing laundry

Seems like disposable income isn't something that's just a result of you being older.

Somehow, unless you're a multi millionaire, I doubt you bought new clothes every week as a COLLEGE student.
You should have been wasting money on alcohol and partying instead.

Resident fan of the ever slumping Karolina Wozniacki.

I didn't buy new clothes every week. It was two or three times when I ran out of stuff to wear and didn't want to do laundry. The laundry facility was several buildings over from my dorm and it was a pain in the ass to carry all the clothes over there and wait for a couple of hours. The extent of my buying was just a new outfit to get me through the next day when I felt more inspired to do laundry
