I like him for this comment

But his ridiculous whoring out to non-IOC advertisers to "make a point" was ridiculous imo. Also organising a date with Paris Hilton What a fame whore this guy seems to be. I've no doubt this is just an attempt for more publicity with this guy.

He can be really annoying but he has been a part of other gay rights campaigns in the US in the past so I do think he's sincere on this issue.

Maybe he is a fame whore, but if it's a genuine sentiment, I'm glad he spoke up in Russia.

Nah, it won't help. I guess Putin don't give a f--k about that statement, and I bet that the only athlete he's listening to is Alina Kabayeva.
So those actions made by Symmonds or my friend who cancelled his concert in Moscow are just like a unhearable whisper for Putin's ear.

I guess thats good but I always like to see an athlete who is normally quite reserved make points I feel it has a bigger impact than someone who likes attention like this guy.

Who cares who's making it? His obnoxious past shouldn't leave us undermining the weight of his advocacy. It's not like he's murderer or pedophile.

Well lets just say if Kim Kardashian suddenly became an activist I'd question her motives. This comment has gotten him the attention he always seems to crave so I guess it's win/win.
