Martin Scorsese, but then again if Chicago is to win best picture, they have to give a big prize somewhere before they hand thenm a best pic win, so maybe Rob Marshall

Martin is said to be fav to win coz he has not win at all before, but remeber last year robert altman ?

They snubbed Peter Jackson. Last year the film received both a Best Film and Best Director nomination. This year only the latter.

Next year, probably zilch.

I guess 'Bad Taste' and 'Braindead' are still haunting his reputation. Really a shame, cause if you get past the 10,000 liters of blood and other bodily fluids, they are excellent films.

Haven't seen 'The Hours', but I thought Daldry did an excellent job with 'Billy Elliot', which won him an Academy Award nomination two years ago, even though it gets some deductions for originality because of its resemblance with 'Brassed Off'.

I guess Scorsese wins this. "Gangs" has Academy support after all.

I doubt it (for his sake)

Go Pedro!!! Scorsese's film is not his best by far...
