Sir Alec Guinness's best movie?

The actor who the word 'aplomb' best suits him.

Which movie or role or acting do you like most from his vast oeuvre?

Early Ealing Studio ones? Or the latter epics and blockbusters

Re: Sir Alec Guinness's best movie?

Star Wars is my favourite film ever but Guinness apparently loathed the attention it brought him.

The Bridge on the River Kwai is him at his best, then The Ladykillers...

Manchester City 2011 FA Cup winners! 2012 Premier League Champions! 2014 League Cup winners and Premier League Champions! At last!!!!!

Only one choice?

Ladykillers and The Horse's Mouth are both excellent, but I have always been greatly amused by Kind Hearts and Coronets. He also was brilliant in the John Le Carre tv films.

Have only seen half of those...but Bridge on the River Kwai is his most memorable, for me.
