What influence do you think USA has on the cultural fronts of the rest of the world?

positive or negative?

either with the help of foreign nationals in their country or on her own, u.s. as a nation somehow succeeded in grabbing world attention in many areas like movies, technology, fashion, space exploration etc. etc......

with the advent of globalization, u.s. influence only increased and people started to take good note of their way of living in general......

in northern india today, the no. of spoiled brats crazy about the west is definitely on the rise......this is not a trend that we would welcome and people are already realizing that......

what is the effect like in european countries? european countries are normal, reserved and quite traditional with long history for themselves......

likewise in asia, africa and latin america?

I'd still have the USA over India honestly, I mean at least the movies are more or less respectable

The belief that man is an irresolute creature pulled this way and that by two forces of equal strength, alternately winning and losing the battle for his soul; the conviction that human life is nothing more than an uncertain struggle between heaven and hell; the faith in two opposed entities, Satan and Christ - all this was bound to engender those internal discords in which the mind, excited by the incessant fighting, stimulated as it were by the constant promises and threats, ends up by giving in and prostitutes itself to whichever of the two combatants has been more obstinate in its pursuit. Life isn't black and white, it's gold.

I know for one thing, if it wasn't for American data technology, you would be concerned right now with rolling out chapatis for uncle Rajiv's chaat cart instead of pondering these silly things.

We stole everything we got from Europe, Africa and Asia, with the exception of what we stole from the Native Americans.

You're wrong. The Japanese would have taken over what the Americans already did

That sums it up well. For a country that has less than 400 years of so-called modern history it was an obvious choice though.

Doesn't the OP make a big deal about being in the Brahmin caste?
If anything, he's probably upset that Western liberalisation has weakened the importance of the caste system.

How can that be? With the exception of the Native Americans all cultures that make-up the US culture have roots in those places. So, is anything really stolen? Or Just in varying states of where it came from? It's why I chuckle at some of the hate the US gets culturally. Maybe just a lack of structural social controls had in the originating cultures?

Europe and Asia don't exactly get a lot of love from many US folks.

Hmmm . .not a lot of serious discussion in this thread. I think it's an interesting topic but

Mulder: "So you're agreeing with me?"
Scully "No! You're bat-crap crazy."
