Re: Tina Turner Appreciation Thread.

So many classics. A true, true legend!

Obviously, Private Dancer, Simply the Best, Nutbush City, River Deep, Mountain High, What's Love... and Proud Mary are superb but I also love We Don't Need Another Hero, Goldeneye and When The Heartache Is Over too! We Don't Need Another Hero is very underrated, imo.

She seems completely egoless as well which is such a rarity in showbiz these days, even for someone of her age.

My mother is that old! My mother looks great as well, but she can't compete on the legs and singing and dancing department.

River Deep, Mountain High
Nutbush City Limits
We Don't Need Another Hero
Proud Mary

Et cetera!

Re: Tina Turner Appreciation Thread.

I always wondered as a younger man why she was called the Queen of Rock and Roll when all I knew was her 80s hits (which are good, don't get me wrong ). But she has like a whole past career before that . lol .

Anyway, she has a great voice . Count me in .

Nice thread but I just couldnt support her after I found out how self-hating and racist she is.

Tina famously performed at segregated venues during the apartheid era in South Africa. I hope y'all that were coming for Maggie Thatcher's policies aren't hypocritical enough to give Ms Tina a pass.

And Le Bon Vivant, miss me with your stabs in the dark. I may support these people's tennis but unlike some I'm not blind to their flaws.

It wasn't a stab, it was just a question.
I'm trying to become less judgmental on that front. Some black people have to play some serious psychological mind tricks on themselves to stay sane in this white man's world, that isn't of their design.

That second interview, <<<<<<<<<<<<<< though.
