Annette Funicello Dead at 70

One of the original Mouseketeers...

http://www.tmz.com/2013/04/08/annett...er-dead-at-70/

Quote:
Funicello was a triple threat -- Mouseketeer, pop singer and bigscreen star. She was huge in the 60's with movies like "Beach Party," Bikini Beach," and "Beach Blanket Bingo."

According to "Extra," Annette had been hospitalized in Bakersfield due to complications from multiple sclerosis and had been in a coma.

Funicello disclosed in 1992 that she suffered from multiple sclerosis. She lost the ability to walk in 2004, could no longer speak by 2009 and required round-the-clock care.

Annette was bigger than Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake and Ryan Gosling combined. She was the fantasy -- largely because of her breasts -- of millions of teenage boys.

My Aunt suffered from MS, and it was horrendous for her and my cousins and Uncle.

RIP Annette. You gave my family much heart and we wont forget you.

Re: Annette Funicello Dead at 70

That's great!

EDIT:

Misread the title while I was out and about. I am DEVASTATED to hear about the passing of Annette Funicello.

EDIT:

She was a role model for me during my days as a Mousketeer. #Heartbroken

Re: Annette Funicello Dead at 70

RIP. I grew up watching her and Frankie Avalon in all the Beach movies. I even own "Beach Blanket Bingo" and love the song. Goodbye but never forgotten.

Re: Annette Funicello Dead at 70

It's so sad to lose this sweet woman. I first discovered Annette when they played the 1987 reunion movie Back To The Beach on cable in the 90s. I loved it so much that i went out to Blockbuster and rented all the original 1960s beach movies They were cheesy fun

RIP
