Still shocked and incredibly saddened by the loss of my friend - Scott and I met through these forums 13 years ago, and in that time our friendship extended well beyond a common interest in tennis to so much more. Scott was a very bright, thoughtful, and sensitive young man with a big heart and I am proud to have been able to call him a friend for so many years through good and challenging times in each of our lives. I always admired Scott's strength in his convictions, and we shared a very similar sense of humour that I will look back on very fondly. I miss him, but am so grateful to know that he was able to make such a lasting impression on so many.

RIP Scott - taken far too soon, but never forgotten in my heart my friend

"Religion has actually convinced people that there is an invisible man living in the sky who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do. Any if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever 'til the end of time!

But he loves you."

Re: RIP Scotso

Terrible news. He was one of the fellow posters I got along with, and shared many of his views (especially during the political storm of 2008). May he rest in peace.

Re: RIP Scotso

He wasn't very active when I joined the board, but I remember him and I remember I really liked his posts. It's impossible to find appropriate words when such a tragedy happens. It's the cruelest reminder that we should never take anything for granted, it can all end in a second.

Re: RIP Scotso

Holy crap. I haven't seen him post regularly in years, and I usually argued with him when he did post. But this is shocking and saddening. He was always remarkably intellectually consistent and honest.

RIP, Scotso. I told him once that he was one of my favourite posters. Nice guy.

Re: RIP Scotso

I don't have words to describe how shocked I was to read this. It's unbearably sad. I remember him very well. As others have said, I remember very clearly his posts in Non-Tennis on political issues - we swapped different views many times! I can remember his Avatar - it was quite distinctive - and always found him to be one of the more thoughtful posters here. It doesn't feel that long ago since I read some of his posts, but time flies. I can't believe he has died. It's frightening and sad that we can spend many years swapping views with people, reading their posts and recognising them, without ever meeting or really knowing who they are and then they disappear and die. He never gave any indication on here of any condition he had. Terrible news.

All my thoughts go out to hime and his loved ones and family.

RIP Scott, strangers you never met remember you and think of you and miss you.

Monica Seles Superstar. Her fans never forget.

Players I root for now: Heather, Laura, Lucie, Marion, Serena, Simona, Svetlana, Venus, Vika. And Caroline.
Doubles and Mixed Doubles are fun and underrated.

Re: RIP Scotso

I know it might be an inappropriate question - but could someone know him in person confirm this?

Re: RIP Scotso

I believe he had some MTF posters on facebook as friends and they read it there. I checked his TF profile, last activity was on 20th January.

I don't think it was inappropriate. I opened this thread and got a shock and burst into tears. Partly because I can be emotional but also just the sadness of it as well as the bluntness of the OP's announcement with no real information. I then asked myself the very question you did because I think such things should be verified before being put onto places such as this Forum. I was so concerned I searched on here and MTF and there was no indication in his final posts of anything seriously wrong, in fact the opposite he seemed to have found a new life.

As it has been verified (by Facebook at least) it is both shocking and sad. May he be at peace and may his family find comfort.

All the best for 2012 to:

Ana; Maria; Vika

Come on Caroline, prove everyone wrong!

Both his husband and his sister confirmed on Facebook.

I am so sorry to hear of his passing. He was a TF institution for many years.
