As usual in the minority, but I love Patricia's collection, except for her lousy styling! Oh, Patricia, you're styling is so atrocious, especially the hairy hats. Actually, a couple of the items I don't like (the ones with glass/mirror circles). Also, the plaid shirt
. It is as if she had to rush to finish so just threw in that shirt. This makes me think that she is eliminated next week and isn't in contention for the win. Basically, I love her textiles and the more relaxed designs. I love this, except for the neck piece:
I think Stanley's is too boring and safe and--as someone already said--derivative. He's obviously very capable, but haven't we seen all these clothes already in Lord & Taylor?
Michelle has a couple nice dresses, using that skirt-folding technique that we saw with the grey cashmere, but I think she used that skirt-folding technique too much. Leanne, also of Portland, did the same thing. She had too many things using the same exact silhouette and technique. Obviously, that didn't prevent her from winning.
From the start, I've felt that Michelle was going to win. And then when they made the whole drama about giving her a second chance, I figured that this was a scripted comeback story.
Fortunately, I think she produced something better than she did over the season. I haven't really liked her clothes through the course of the show (and I loathe her color selections), but I think her final collection is pretty nice, even if not my style. The outfit she put on Lisa, though, is kind of ugly, and I've seen it before. She has too much brown and mustard colors. I hate those colors!
Layana's collections looks like someone who went to Spain and wanted to represent Spain in her collection. Too stereotypical lace, ruffles, bullfighters. Also, sheer skirts. I thought that trend was over, no?
Samantha's was kind of a disaster, especially considering that she seemed really talented during the show and only held back because of the team business. Sad.
