Britney wants new album to be more 'hip-hop'

Britney Spears has had meetings with William Orbit and Daft Punk about her next album.

She isn't due to begin recording the album until next month.

Britney says even though she's officially having time off at the moment, it hasn't stopped her thinking about the follow-up to Britney.

"I would go crazy if I didn't do anything," Britney tells the Hollywood Reporter. "I always have to do something."

"We haven't really been taking it that seriously, but we are going to start taking it serious in January. Mainly, I've just been having meetings with people to hear their stuff to see if I want to work with them. I met up with some really hot pro ducers, William Orbit and Daft Punk."

"Musically, I seriously think I am going to do a little bit more rock, hip-hop and just play with it," Britney says.

"That's the direction I'm in now, but who knows? A month from now, it may change, and I could come up with this amazing, amazing song, and then everything just kind of shifts."

Certainly bubblegum pop is not popular now. She'll switch to hip-hop to sell more records.

Maybe Britney should get a fuckin pen and paper and write her own shit!

This way she can have more control over her otherwise crappy(yet adored by plenty) music career

LOL! I could just see Baby from Cash Money saying that he wants William Orbit and Daft Punk to produce a few tracks on his next cd.

Stinger that's also what I thought until I was with my girls and we were buzzing a little bit and one of my girls put on JT's cd and we were totally grooving to it. There's nothing boy bandish about it all. he has some really good tracks with Bubba Sparks and Floetry. I didn't like the one he did with Janet because it's kinda sorta typical Timbaland like stuff he writes for everybody else. It's not like god awful but it just sounds like a lot of other Timbaland songs.
