Wow, top search for Russia is weird. We aren't interested in becoming nicer, we quite enjoy our sulky ways, thank you very much.

WTA GERMANS STAN!

Andrea Petkovic --- Angelique Kerber --- Annika Beck --- Carina Witthöft

Exactly.

I wasn't Russia hating at all; just pointing out the ridiculousness of a Russian sitting around pondering "how to become nicer" long enough to type it into Google. This would never happen.

Ok, but in this case it's actually not "hating" as much as it is stating facts. When people act as if the "hating" and mocking comes from nowhere it seems to me an abdication of responsibility. Can't even acknowledge there is a severe problem. You are the fattest nation in this history of statistics and it's spilling over into the rest of the world now because of decades of irresponsible eating habits.

Certainly I'll be the first to admit it's also a problem in Britain as well and we should take responsibility for that ourselves not "blame America", which would be an abdication of our own responsibility. We are trying (note the emphasis) with Jamie Oliver and this whole Olympics sports push at least. Nevertheless, it is ironic that "how to cook" was mentioned as a high proportion of our food outlets are Americanised and I would point to "fast food" as one of the main sources of our growing weight problems.

As per the article the UK has excellent oral hygiene and dental facilities so I never got the irony in that. It's not even overdone, it's just never made sense to me.

I did some searches. Why is "How to train your dragon" the 2nd most frequent search for Canada?

For Serbia, #1 is "How to find a job. Sadly, it's very believable.

Usually those that quote questionable stats and present them as facts irratate the hell out of me. Arguably, Americans and Canadians eat far too much fast food and fatty food. However, hardly everyone in North America or Canada can be described as being fat or obese. Also, when you factor in that Americans as a whole work longer work weeks and take fewer vacations than in other parts of the world and have, when working, no longer then a 30minuter break for lunch, its not hard to figure that getting something fas and filling often becomes more important then healthy. However, these "factoids" are not often quoted in conjunction with the obesity problem and, as a result, the obesity problem is used as a way to critisize Americans

This. My original point with the teeth comment is that sweeping generalizations don't apply to everyone and it's irritating to be grouped into one you don't belong. But I'm sure many know the feeling in one context or another.
