Another travel thread... Dubai

Hey guys,
I'm going to Dubai on next saturday with a friend. We'll be living with another friend close to Burj Khalifa.
We have 7 days. On the 6th my friend will do a marathon and I will do the 10 km, so the last day we'll be on a beach.

We want to do a dune safari (4w) probably on the monday. We want to shop like crazy for a day or two (or three with the souks).

What else?

And what's the best way to visit Burj Khalifa? To pay a shitload of money for a drink or just to go up and down?

And good, cheap places to eat?

Thank you in advance

J'aime la Suede.
I Love Sweden
Svensker Elsker

Still a Lleyki

This is not true from my experience. It was more interesting than I thought and isn't that expensive, taxis are ridiculously cheap compared with Dublin and no sales tax.

I was scared seven days would be too few, but then I talked to people who said it was perfect. Regarding if it's expensive... I'm from Denmark, so it can only be cheaper

But what do do? Where to eat? What to avoid?

Really? In my experience, unless you really search for it, finding any sort of local culture is almost impossible. You can't walk anywhere, all that surrounds you are tall buildings and douche-y hotel bars and clubs.

But maybe I didn't try hard enough. Definitely not going to try to go back.
