I don't get cricket but the people of my island do with such a passion. They welcomed Darren and one of his teammates who is also Saint Lucian home in huge rally which began as a motorcade from the airport and around the island. The Prime Minister also renamed the Cricket Grounds after him ( a bit much, but it's an election year )

New Zealand is peddling with that idea, and have done so for the last few seasons, its proving to be a positive change, ultimately, the dynamics in the team are one to also look at, No one feels dissapointed if they sit out for the tournament (Southee, Boult) they are happy to give their places for the sake of the team,

I think it will be a long time for the West Indies to have a competitve nature in the test arena again, Im not even to sure if that is primarly their focus now, they seem to be focussed on T20 and ODI with how their results have been.

I love the T20 Game, I was a little speculative about it about 10 years ago, because I thought with the pace of the game, it is going to have an effect on the slower formats, however, its actually creating alot of opportunites for players to get a hand in the international arena, I just dont want to see it have a negative impact on ones team, in any format, including Test Cricket, where it is waning in popularity in some countries.
