Re: 2012 MTV Video Music Awards - September 6th

It was definitely tragic. I watched portions of it. One Direction taking home a lot of awards.

Nicki Minaj winning Female of the Year.
(Anyone else think Nicki's outfit was a copy of Venus' RG 2010 dress? )

Chris Brown winning Male of the Year.

Rihanna winning VOTY (Expected but )

The latest ratings on Wikipedia show that it lost about 5 million viewers from last year.

Lowest since 2006.

SERENA 23 GRAND SLAMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOZNIACKI BOUCHARD VENUS

This was the most boring ever . Last year was pretty good , this just didn't click at all.

My number one: Victoria Azarenka

ATP: Novak Djoković

Crazy Frenchies! Gilles Simon Alizé Cornet

The lack of replies in this thread reflects the poor ratings compared to last year. Only 6.1 million viewers, compared to 12.4 million last year. 64 replies this year, compared to 346 last year.

Re: 2012 MTV Video Music Awards - September 6th

The reason for the lack of replies is the nominees

Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj win

Official Guardian and Delphinium of the Forbidden Flower Kingdom

Jelena Jankovic - Vera Zvonareva - Zhang Shuai - Duan Ying-Ying - Venus Williams - Petra Kvitova - Zheng Jie - Li Na - Serena Williams - Peng Shuai - Hsieh Su-Wei

Re: 2012 MTV Video Music Awards - September 6th

Katy + Rihanna being totally bored saved the show from being a complete disaster. 1D were also good.

Nicki needs to take a seat. A complete mess of a woman.

Pretty sure this is right target group

What we get from In Flames-style Göteborg-metal mixed with Eurovisionpop?

This!

I'm going to be optimistic about our country and think that the lower ratings had to do with the Democratic National Convention

Venus Williams-Ana Ivanovic-Serena Williams-Vika Azarenka-Caroline Wozniacki

McHale-Stephens-Watson-Robson-Townsend

Brodsky-Muhammad-Hampton-Keys-Crawford-Andrews-Hardebeck

She was? I don't remember her there. We all know the biggest story of the VMAs last year.

The low viewing figures aren't surprising. Godney, Gaga and Beyonce all attended last year while only One Direction, Katy and Rihanna would have attracted viewers this year.

I'm not so sure about that. The two programs weren't going after the same demographics. Plus, Obama didn't even speak until after the awards had ended.

Re: 2012 MTV Video Music Awards - September 6th

Last year Adele, Gaga and Beyonce performed. Big difference.
2012 is the year of random bands and the likes of Carly Rae Jepsen
It's like a bad version of 1999

Marion Bartoli - Michelle Larcher de Brito - Serena Williams - Venus Williams - Tamira Paszek
