I'm proud to be one of those to see that religion causes nothing but hatred and discrimination, rather than love. This is once again another proof of that. Wake up and smell the coffee people. Religion was invented by the rich and famous thousands of years ago to control the masses. And it still is.

I'm all alone with my delusions

If you bother to read the thread counter points were already made. I.e. mother =/= mother figure. A father can be a mother figure, a grandmother can be a mother figure. You might want to start with challenging these comments if you want your own to carry any weight.

At the end of the day your thinking is limited and parochial. People like yourself and JRollaneres are really an example of why education is so important in the modern world, more than ever. Sticking children in a class room and teaching them facts and how to use the internet to look up more facts simply isn't going to produce an enlightened or functioning society in this over-populated and globalised world.

Certainly, there will always be highly educated bigots as well as poorly educated ones. However, it is generally accepted by those with any knowledge in the field of education that the the ability to think critically, in a framework beyond one's immediate social/cultural bubble are skills that simply aren't being taught with any kind of parity across the global education system. Parity in and simply better more rounded education is as important as curing cancer imo.

I agree with this.
There is absolutely no need to bash ppl just because they have a different opinion on the matter.

Oh I thought you were using "believer" pejoratively. Now I see you were using it as a blanket excuse for ignorance. As Debby said, many believers are pro-LGBT rights. The world views of many religious people are strongly influenced by their education. See social attitudes in countries like Poland or areas like the Bible Belt with very strong religio-social power structures, compared to places less apt to be bogged down by religious doctrines.

Good luck with that. Especially with some of the mental midgets on this board. Their position is if you disagree with them, it can only be because you are either an idiot or you are evil.

For Dante, it follows then, that the only way to get into Hell is to insist upon it. One must deliberately exclude himself from grace by hardening his heart against it. Hell is what the damned have actively and insistently wished for.

The man that hath no music in himself, nor is not moved with concord of sweet sounds is fit for treasons, stratagems and spoils. The motions of his spirit are dull as night and his affections dark as Erebus. Let no such man be trusted. Shakespeare

Well, being against gay marriage is also a way to bash people because you have a different opinion on the matter

Not at all, people aren't going to hate on you if you marry with another man.
You guys don't seem understand that.

So far, some ppl gave certain reasons to their opinion because of religion or sth else but it's not done in a way to bash gay ppl. Well, I know in my case it isn't.

Re: Do you support Gay Marriage?

We're mostly talking civil marriage Religion has no words to say about that. Believer or not, religion is not an acceptable excuse to refuse gay people a civil marriage.

Voting to deprive gays of rights afforded to other citizens is bashing on a whole other level. Yet people want to and call a simple disagreement bashing. Such victims... my heart goes out.
