BOMBSHELL: Antalya more visited than NYC!!

Antalya was the 3rd most visited place in the world in 2011, behind Paris and London repectively, squeezing out NYC by 200,000 people (10.5 Million to 10.3 Million. I don't think they need the 10Ks anymore to bring money to the region

I hadn't even heard of it before I joined tennisforum

I believe you're thinking in Anatolia. Anyway this is crazy, I don't think I had heard of Antalya either before I joined TF I'm watching photos of it right now and it looks really beautiful.

The belief that man is an irresolute creature pulled this way and that by two forces of equal strength, alternately winning and losing the battle for his soul; the conviction that human life is nothing more than an uncertain struggle between heaven and hell; the faith in two opposed entities, Satan and Christ - all this was bound to engender those internal discords in which the mind, excited by the incessant fighting, stimulated as it were by the constant promises and threats, ends up by giving in and prostitutes itself to whichever of the two combatants has been more obstinate in its pursuit. Life isn't black and white, it's gold.

Antalya is one of the most visited regions by Western Europeans. They practically only have 4 or 5-star hotels with all-inclusive formulas, which are very cheap. Pure farniente.

Re: BOMBSHELL: Antalya more visited than NYC!!

New York City did not just have 10.3 million people visit last year? I'm confused?

New York City had 50.5 million people visit in 2011.

Maybe it was just international visitors? I don't know... I looked at various different websites and they are all claiming different things.

Also whoever wrote that in Antalya's Wikipedia article didn't provide the source.

40 Million domestic visitors=False
Maybe if you include those coming in from Newark etc. for a day or something like that, or going to a Basketball, Baseball or Hockey game then maybe, but when I lived in New York for 2 Months there were not that many obvious tourists from the rest of America. Yes I was in Long Island which is a less visited burrow, but still
