SONY READER or NOOK TOUCH?

I know I know, Kindle is the king, and I do have lots of it at my Kindle for PC. I love Amazon and am utterly accustomed to it.
Even MANY Kindle books are cheaper than NOOK books.

But why NOOK?

I'm born that way, kinda contrarian
AND, the DESIGN It's growing on me, WAY better than the Kindle one imo, so cute!
And it's touch and they sell for $77, $20 cheaper than Kindle Touch now (until May 12)

Maybe I should buy Nook first any buy an upgraded Kindle or Fire some time later

Re: I just might buy NOOK TOUCH

I think I will be sticking with my old Kindle for a long while. I'm even thinking about going back to books.

You're dampening my enthusiasm(?)

I just bought an entire edition of Honore (de; he wasn't an aristocrat, but a snob that's why he added the 'de' ) Balzac's Human Comedy, for a mere $10 !!!!!!!

The library was selling it and I bought it, an old but sturdy edition with salacious pictures!

Re: I just might buy NOOK TOUCH

I would still be reading paper books if my daughter didn't tear the pages out of every book she touches.

I love my Kindle which Amazon just replaced for free.

However, I don't really think there is much difference to any of them. I am getting addicted to the free games though that Amazon offers... I have the keyboard Kindle with free 3G.

I wasn't talking about Tablet

Kidding

Is internet connection good? And I always wanted to ask this; when watching movies, can you download subtitle?

Re: SONY READER or NOOK TOUCH?

Connection is usually pretty good, depends on the wifi. I havent ever tried watching movies with subtitles, so I am not entirely sure.

Re: SONY READER or NOOK TOUCH?

I'm now kinda besotted with Sony's industrial design, even other ones such as PRS-350SC.

So fickle

I dood it; 'Sony Pocket Edition Reader Silver, PRS350SC'

'Sony Pocket Edition Reader Silver, PRS350SC'

bought 2nd hand from Amazon.

Couldn't resist the cute design, and the price was a bargain

So, Help me God.

Re: SONY READER or NOOK TOUCH?

also bought this for about $54, secondhand via Amazon

It came with a leather cover

the problem is, even though this is a newer, the most recent version, as a document reader it's inferior to 350 above While 350 at least can read RTF files, this can't Both can't read doc. files.
Calibre also can't read RTF files too, what a tragedy

Good thing is picture files can be uploaded easily, and T1's web browsing is pretty fast.
That's about it.
Another very useful function is wireless borrowing from public library, this is said to be the best out there, haven't tried it yet.

If you want convenience, and if you exclusively use Amazon, just buy kindle, is my recommendation. The problem for me, is their design is the worst Sony is hardware-wise the best, and I like nook too.

Now only nook and kindle left to buy, wonder which one I should buy as a tablet

Well, you can always convert them in Calibre to whatever format you like.
