~ The Most Anticipated Films of 2012~

Well it's that time of the year again, after the Oscars and near The Cannes Film Festival, when we get to post about our most anticipated films of this year. 2012 seems like a MONUMENTAL year for film, and I can't wait to see the mouthwatering list of films you guys will come up with.

For starters let's get the obvious choices out of the way...

The Dark Knight Rises

The Hobbit

Prometheus

Men In Black 3

The Amazing Spider-Man

The Avengers

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

I can't wait for The Avengers and Prometheus!!! I don't know which one I'm most looking forward to. And then Batman.

The belief that man is an irresolute creature pulled this way and that by two forces of equal strength, alternately winning and losing the battle for his soul; the conviction that human life is nothing more than an uncertain struggle between heaven and hell; the faith in two opposed entities, Satan and Christ - all this was bound to engender those internal discords in which the mind, excited by the incessant fighting, stimulated as it were by the constant promises and threats, ends up by giving in and prostitutes itself to whichever of the two combatants has been more obstinate in its pursuit. Life isn't black and white, it's gold.

Oh and The Hobbit too! Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter

Re: ~ The Most Anticipated Films of 2012~

I understand everyone's feelings on Spider-Man but I'm kind of looking forward to Marc Webb and Andrew Garfield's interpretation. The Batman reboot worked out well so it's possible it could work out.

I need to look to see what's coming out when but I'm looking forward to the Hobbit, Quentin Tarantino's movie Django Unchained and the Master, Paul Thomas Anderson's movie loosely based on scientology.

Re: ~ The Most Anticipated Films of 2012~

The three big ones for me are Dark Knight Rises, The Hobbit and Prometheus. Feels like a long time since we had such a run of big, promising movies to look forward to.

Anyone know of a Japanese release date from Prometheus? Worryingly I can't seem to find one.

Manchester City 2011 FA Cup winners! 2012 Premier League Champions! 2014 League Cup winners and Premier League Champions! At last!!!!!

Re: ~ The Most Anticipated Films of 2012~

i know hollywood is re-making everything that can't hide fast enough, but the great gatsby? seriously? same goes for total recall, the trailer looks awful.

the bourne legacy: making a bourne film without matt damon seemed stupid at first, but i like jeremy renner and he might just pull it off. edward norton and rachel weisz are in it, too. and of course the almighty joan allen.

cosmopolis: hopefully a return to form for david cronenberg.

dark shadows: same here, fingers crossed that tim burton got his act together for this movie (though the trailer dampened my hopes ...)

django unchained: hey, it's tarantino after all.

life of pi: i quite liked this book, and ang lee directing means that it might become a good movie.

the master: paul tomas anderson is finally back, and his thinly veiled dramatization of the life of ron hubbard could be interesting.

moonrise kingdom: some people hate wes anderson's movies, some people love them. but he's always got a fantastic cast at disposal, this time it includes tilda swinton, harvey keitel, bruce willis, edward norton, and frances mcdormand, jason schwartzman and bill murray.
