Well some say Pele, in my lifetime Diego Maradona.

I have seen Pele on video, but it's not the same as growing up with Maradona (despite being a cheating b@stard)

Maradona, cheating twat, cocaine addict, genius.

World Cup '86 was all about him, he could do things with a football that no-one could ever do.

Top 3 for me would be

1) Maradona
2) Pele
3) Ronaldo

Ooh a top 3, i won't choose Pele as i'm only 26 but from what i have seen, he was very very good

1. Maradona
2. Van Basten
3. Zidane
3. Ronaldo

Zidane and Ronaldo are the only 2 players since Maradona/Van Basten that i would consider worthy of the admission fee alone

Maldini has never been the same player without Baresi to hold his hand. Beckenbauer probably greatest defender, but agree that in my lifetime Baresi, Desailly was World Class too, still pretty decent

Goalies

1) Yashin (USSR)
2) Shilton (ENG)
3) Poom (EST) (Simply because Shilton is seen as a legend around the world of football, and there are some who would say Poom was a better Derby goalkeeper than Shilts... Poom is a phenomenal 'keeper though and I'm gutted to see him go )

McGrath, only PFA player of the year to win it as a defender in god knows how many years.

Stimac... you had to actually see him in action, mind you in Euro'96 and World Cup '98 he was class... the man oozed confidence and ability. IIIIIIIIIIIGOR!

Stimac dodgy?

Signed in October 1995 whilst Derby were a lowly 17th in Division one for £1.75 million from Hadjuk Split. Made his debut against Tranmere, scored the only goal in a 5-1 thrashing up at Prenton Park, looked the only decent Derby player on the field as the rest looked totally out of their depth.

A formation change putting Stimac as a sweeper ensued in the follwoing game against West Brom, which the Rams won 3-0, and went on to embark on a 20 match unbeaten run that would see them rise to the top of the league and would eventually see promotion...

God, that man was a legend, I still have his autographed pic on my wall and I won't sell it!

Incidentally... he didnt win player of the season that year! That went to Dean Yates... who i voted for, but he was a reliable captain in every sense of the word.
