Those 3 little words !

Lately my father keeps saying that he loves me.Maybe he’s trying to make up for those long lost years! I feel happy when he does but I can’t say 'I love u too' even if that’s the way I feel. I would really like to but I find it hard to say those words. I am always doubtful when someone(no matter who) says they love me. Don’t have much belief in me !

Do ppl – lovers, friends, family members etc – often say ‘I love you’ to u and how do u usually react?
Do u have problem to express yourselves?

I second the previous post ;-)

Ive never had much problems to express myself but obviously its different from one person to another. Dont worry too much about not being able to tell your dad you love him...im sure he knows even if you dont say those three words :-)

Thanks

I hope he knows cuz everytime he says he loves me, he seems to be waiting for a sort of response that never comes! I know he needs to know that I have forgiven him. He probably still feels guilty after the way he kicked me out of his house (wouldn't even let me in to gather my things-my sister did!). One of the many reasons I have doubts when ppl say they love me.

I have never said i love you to my parents, doesn't mean i don't love them. And same for them, i'd find it very awkward if they were telling me that actually.

rocktheboat, time would heal the wound....for as long as the respect is still there then love would be developed in a natural way. Just say "I love you" when you are ready and really meant it.
