Re: Going to NYC. Need some advice.
You should go visit the Bronx zoo, it's the second biggest zoo in the world and an amazing experience. It's 45 minutes by metro if I remember well and 10 minutes walking. I know it's in the Bronx area but I felt relatively safe despite my initial inhibitions
I would also avoid the Empire State Building if you don't wanna wait for a lifetime, Top of the Rock is much better, better view and no waiting!
Stopping at Liberty Island where the Statue of Liberty is can be a pain in the ass, queues are neverending to buy a ticket and then you have to queue up to take the ferry. I recommend taking the Staten island Ferry, it doesn't stop at the island but it passes by and you can take beautiful photos of the statue.
I've seen many Broadway musicals but I found "Wicked" and 'Jersey boys" the most exciting and certainly worth their money.
I found the Metropolitan museum a bit boring but MoMA is excellent, if you are into Modern and proggressive art the Guggenheim is a good choice too.
If you are staying for many days you can visit other cities like Washington and Philadelphia or even spend two days to visit the Niagara Falls. Have a nice time!
