People from France, need your help

I'm thinking of going on a working holiday to France sometime next year, so was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of good cities/towns I could live in, that wouldn't cost me an arm and a leg (ie. not Paris ;-) )

Good weather is also a definite asset!

I obviously don't live in France but I would suggest Perpignan. South France, good weather, things to do, and near Toulouse and Spain

I'm a young girl, an old WTAWorld member.

I've always wanted to visit Chartres for the cathedrals, are any of you from there? or been there?

Also do you have a 4 day working week in France? Someone told me that, am I naive in believing them so? lol
