What's your favorite non-Western album?

I have to do an Ethnographic CD review...and I don't know what to choose. Some recommendations would be nice!

Re: What's your favorite non-Western album?

Basically, not American, as far as I understand.

Cibo Matto's kinda complicated since they're NY based and all of their popularity was mostly in the US. But they do have Shibuya-kei influences, obviously because they're Japanese. I'll just get a list and run them by my professor.

I still like the album so far though. Very Bjork-esque and sounds a but like CSS from Brazil.

Breathtaking.

"If you practice for ten years, you may begin to please yourself, after 20 years you may become a performer and please the audience, after 30 years you may please even your guru, but you must practice for many more years before you finally become a true artist—then you may please even God." --Ali Akbar Khan, 1922-2009

Would the Drawing Restraint 9 Soundtrack count as Western music?

No, I wouldn't think so. I want to stay away from Bjork though, I want to dig into new/unfamiliar grounds. I was considering Sigur Ros too but I couldn't make it through their album.
