Australian PM dragged away after being trapped by protesters

That's her in the black skirt. I can't believe the security was this poor:

Re: Australian PM dragged away after being trapped by protesters

I think this may look worse than it actually is. It seems as though the police just freaked out because the protesters were banging on the windows to the restaurant.

Besides, they were protesting against Tony Abbott, this didn't even involve Julia. Abbott's comments were foolish and naive, but there were nothing sinister behind them.

Overreaction by the protesters.

I was going to have a joke about protesting Tomic and his arrest or whatever, but my brain is fried. Damn Fedal at 330am!

I know it's so bad but I actually laughed when I saw this on breaking news during the women's SFs today.

There's some video of it here:

And no one is being charged! Ridiculous. I'm all for free speech but peacefully - an example needs to made of these people.

Also - the aboriginal embassy is a joke. I had to go there in a school trip once and it was basically a hut with a couch out the front and people just sitting around. I'm fine with something of aboriginal significance in the area but that is an embarrassment not just for Australia - but I'd imagine for most aborginals as well

I find the images quite ammusing. I don't really care either way, this is exciting as it gets in Australian politics, Julia tripping/getting man handled by the security guard made it a little bit more dramatic.

Another prime example as to why Australian History should still be a mandatory subject in Australian schools. The result of its removal is this. I don't even know where to start telling you why this statement is wrong as I don't have 4 hours to type it out for you. Your ignorance is not completely your fault though, if you knew anything about the infringement on the human rights of indigenous Australians you would not say something so stupid. From terra nullius to the genocide that occured beacuse of that through to the more recent Northern Territory intervention. You need to stop looking at the issue on its face value and what the media want you to see. The media has been politically influenced for a long time and the 'real' truth only told through small, indigenous funded publishing houses which are now scarce.
