Question How much...

does a film ticket cost where you live?

I pay €5.80 and was wondering how that compares to the rest of the planet.

Usually $8.50 in DC and Long Island or $9-10 in NYC. It's ludicrous, and that's why now I don't often see movies with friends that I don't really want to see.

5.80? I think it's 6.50 in Gent.

If only I was sure that my head on the door was a dream

Wowie, that's expensive!

But I guess I spend something like €8.50-9 if I include snacks, candy and drinks at the theatre.

Well it depends on the theatre I guess. Kinepolis is the cheapest but other, smaller theatres are a few cents more.

£6.50 - £8.00 depending on where you go in London. I choose not to go at those prices. It's extortion!

In Belfast it was £3.50 for students! That was great!

A couple places in NYC and DC have student discounts, but only for matinees. Sometimes I could scrounge up cheap tickets or coupons at the Student Union, and if you waited long enough you had a 50-50 chance of seeing the movie for free on campus.

As for food and drink, normally we just buy stuff at a convenience store beforehand and bring it in...it's quite a bit cheaper and no one really cares...

So Belfast is the cheapest so far.

We have to buy food and drinks at the theatre, we can't bring our own.
