~*HARRY POTTER THREAD*~ For all the brilliant fans :-)

I'm going to have a "little" introduction

I was inspired to make this tread and I dedicate it to the epic global phenomenon that forever changed my life. I have spent the last 11(nearly) years being a huge of HP. I have read each book at least 2-3 times each and I have watched every movie countless times.

I remember my first time watching HP, I was 6. Even though I hadn't read the books at the time I was fascinated when I saw the movie and I instantly became a fan. And then by the time the 2nd movie was out I had already read both the first and the second one and as I grew older I understood many things I previously hadn't. The information just kept coming and I was so interested in the books and the movies, obsessed even

I read the Deathly Hallows nearly 3 years ago, but I still couldn't wait for the movies!

Everything has it's end and the magic ended last year. The last movie was absolutely incredible, I cried so hard at the end and I was like: "Well, there goes my childhood". But what a fantastic 11 years it's been with Harry Potter, it has changed my life and made me like books!

And now the important part:
After the last movie, I just felt so empty that it was all over and I stopped thinking about it for months, the magic was over, just like that.
But then they started showing the entire movie series on our very popular television channel called "Prva" and I rediscovered my passion for Harry Potter! After I watched the first 3 movies on TV, I saw the remaining 5 in only 2 days

So anyway, this thread is for all who wish to discuss about Harry Potter and remember the good old times!

I was a huge Harry Potter fan until I read the sixth book, then I lost interest. I don't know it just happened

Don’t squander the gold of your days listening to the tedious, trying to improve the hopeless failure, or giving away your life to the ignorant and the vulgar. These are the sickly aims, the false ideals of our age.

Re: ~*HARRY POTTER THREAD*~ For all the brilliant fans :-)

I'm also HP fan.

I saw the first movie, which I liked. then I watched the second movie when it came out and I really enjoyed that aswell!
My mom was member of a bookclub and she had the first 4 books at home (they were only ones out at this time)

At this time I never read books, I always said: "I don't like reading" but I started reading book 3 because I wanted to see how it continued.

After that i read book 4 and by this time I was total psychopat fan. Then I read book 1 and 2 for the first time and I was totally amazed by how much I missed!!!!!!
after this I read book 3 and 4 again and waited for book 5 to come out.
Since then I have just been rereading and waiting for the new book to come out to get in my reread cycle

Since that moment I read every day , I pretty much can't sleep without reading first.
I have read many great books now and I still am ( now reading Game of Thrones).

All this I have to thank to JK Rowling and HP introducing me to reading

But I think my main interest did die when the last book came out, I haven't even watched the last HP movie... I have it on DVD though.
I don't wanna watch it somehow.

Re: ~*HARRY POTTER THREAD*~ For all the brilliant fans :-)

I don't think there is anything creepy about this thread at all Harry Potter had such an impact on our generation.

I loved the first 4 books in particular (with the exception of Azkaban, as I never cared about Sirius much). Things kinda fell apart for me after that. By the time I read the last book, I was much less emotionally invested and all the holes in the plot just made it much less enjoyable.

The more I read the more I hated Harry Potter I also hated the Weasley children (mostly Ron, Ginny and the twins). I am not gonna lie, I ed when one of them died and the other had an ear torn off or whatever. My favs were Neville and Luna and I'm still devastated they didn't end up together. Although Hannah Abbott is a goddess too, so meh.

I will always be grateful to JK Rowling for creating this magical universe The actual quality of the writing itself is pretty underwhelming (which is probably why I enjoy more well-written fanfic) but she really opened doors for me.

I'm a huge Potter geek myself and I totally get what you mean about that hollow feeling having finished the last film.
At least after the last book you had the films to look forward to... but now .

To think that I've probably visited the cafe's where J.K Rowling used to sit and doodle the Philosopher's Stone several times...
I also have a Weasley is our King hoodie .

Why is that sad? My favorite writer is Dostoyevsky (), but I still think that Harry Potter books are very good, it's a joy to read it. Not all the bestsellers are crap.

Re: ~*HARRY POTTER THREAD*~ For all the brilliant fans :-)

All the times I cried during HP:

HP1: at the very end when Hagrid was saying goodbye to Harry on the train station (out of happiness)
HP2: at the very end when Harry says "There's no Hogwarts without you Hagrid" and then the music starts and everyone has tears in their eyes (out of happiness)
Hp4: Near the end when Harry cried over Cedric's dead body after he had returned from the cemetery, Idk why
HP5: When Sirius died, omg so sad
HP6: When Dumbledore died, my heart stopped beating for a second, I cried til the end of the book and movie
HP7: When Dobby died, his last words and everything...
HP7: At the very last part of the seventh book/movie at King's Cross station '19 years later' (bitter-sweet)

As you can see, I am very emotional during movies
