Smile Former NBA player Manute Bol joins my hometown hockey team!

I still kinda can't believe this.

Manute Bol, who is well-known as the tallest player ever in the NBA (7'7", or 231 cm), is joining the Indianapolis Ice hockey team.

The Ice is a minor league hockey team (the International Hockey League), and are well-known and well-regarded here in Indy...I'm not exactly sure why Manute is joining the team, but I will try to find something about it in the paper this morning.

My question is, where are they going to find a uniform, and knee pads big enough to fit Manute?

does height an advantage in ice hockey?

Height is surely a disadvantage in hockey! In hockey it is good to have your center of gravity lower so you can move quickly and make changes in direction much faster. He also has a longer way to fall than those other players, ouch!

CHOCO, that's what my boss (sports editor of a suburban newspaper) said. Although there was a little blurb about it in today's Indianapolis newspaper, and it looks like he's serious about it.

BasicTennis, I think Manute would give any volleyball team a wayyyy unfair advantage!

Height can be an advantage in hockey..but you need the size to go with it. Manute is a twig..if he got checked he would break in half!! I doubt he'll actually play..but the image of him on skates is hiliarious
