How would you interpret this quote?

"Man is not made for defeat
He can be destroyed
But not defeated"

- The Old Man & the Sea

Heroes represent this quote because although physically destroyed (example death), their ideals/principles live on for us to follow and be inspired to be like them.

"When I was four years old, we moved from England to USA, when my mother found out that I won't be KING!" -- Bob Hope--

Madame Oracene Williams could certainly teach the French & Belgian crowds on how to upgrade their respective primitive behaviours during a tennis match.

That we are stupid: we can't admit defeat even if we're destroyed. But the other interpretations are fine too

If only I was sure that my head on the door was a dream
