Best performance by a Best Actress winner in Contagion

So I just came back from this. LOL couldn't they have gotten Julia Roberts to play that doctor doing the research and then it would've been just complete. Seriously. When was the last time so many Best Actress winners were in the same film?

I thought it was ok. What did everyone else think?

They once did a similar poll for Valley of the Dolls. I won, but who would vote for Lee ("At night, all cats are gray") Grant or Patty ("Ted Casablanca is NOT a FAG, and I'm the dame who can prove it") Duke!

Re: Best performance by a Best Actress winner in Contagion

it was an extremely poor and boring movie with no interesting characters whatsoever. actually, i'm still in shock that an experienced director like soderbergh could come up with something as measly as this. the best thing about this movie was that gwyneth paltrow died after 10 minutes (pity about the flashbacks).

winslet and cotillard - undoubtedly two fantastic actresses - were proof how clueless the director was; they just wander around frantically and big-eyed ... and that's it. cotillard's abduction and the scene at the chinese village's school were especially silly and illogical.

Re: Best performance by a Best Actress winner in Contagion

Gwyneth is one of my favourite actresses so I vote for her

The belief that man is an irresolute creature pulled this way and that by two forces of equal strength, alternately winning and losing the battle for his soul; the conviction that human life is nothing more than an uncertain struggle between heaven and hell; the faith in two opposed entities, Satan and Christ - all this was bound to engender those internal discords in which the mind, excited by the incessant fighting, stimulated as it were by the constant promises and threats, ends up by giving in and prostitutes itself to whichever of the two combatants has been more obstinate in its pursuit. Life isn't black and white, it's gold.

Gwen. Her seizure scene was just too good. It just looks real.

You were definitely the best in Valley of the Dolls, Helen.

Yeah I almost feel like this is a huge comeback year for Gwyn. She so deserves it, she's been trying so hard for years.

This is actually one of the worst films i have ever seen....up there with the likes of slither and the royal tenenbaums....it lacked any kind of suspense and or action....it was a completely nothing film.....the adverts were totally misleading!

The next big thing: Voegele

I had high hopes for it, and liked it, but there were just way too many storylines that weren't fleshed out at all.

Seeing GOOP (Paltrow) die was the best thing about the trailer, probably even the movie (since i didn't see).

I guess not everyone gets the humour. The Royal Tenenbaums is one of my favourite movies.

Inspiration is for amateurs
