50 Places to see before you die...

As voted by viewers from BBC's holidays programme the top 50 places in the world to see...for all those who always think we Brits are full of ourselves, note there are NO British places on the list at all!!!

3 Florida (Walt Disney World!)
4 South Island (NZ)
5 Cape Town
6 Golden Temple (India)
7 Las Vegas
8 Sydney
9 New York
10 Taj Mahal
11 Canadian Rockies
12 Uluru
13 Chichen Itza - Mexico
14 Machu Picchu - Peru
15 Niagara Falls
16 Petra - Jordan
17 The Pyramids - Egypt
18 Venice

They showed clips of all the places, the one that really caught my eye was 14, in Peru, amazing, truly spectacular.

I've been to...3,7, 36.

36 was best.

The only one I've never heard of is No. 12 Uluru.
Where/what is it?

Man, proud man, drest in a little brief authority, most ignorant of what he’s most assured,
his glassy essence, like an angry ape, plays such fantastic tricks before high heaven,
as makes the angels weep.

i'd chose to check out heaven and hell so i can make up my mind on where it's best to hang out after dying

All the fun is in hell carot

Ive only been to Paris

Sorry, but lmao.

(You probably know it as Ayer's Rock..... and, yes, I've been there, one of my life's peak experiences.)

So far I've managed: 1, 2, 7, 8, 9, 12, 14, 18, 24, 25, 27, 35, 36, 39, 42, 49........ that still leaves me a lot of work to do.

Thanks jouissant, I've never heard it called Uluru. Is that it's aboriginal name or something? I'm glad you told me as I'll be visiting Australia in the new year and don't want to look too much of a 'dumb tourist'.

Talking

I've been lucky enough to of visited 12 of the places listed - 1. The Grand Canyon / 7. Las Vegas / 10. Taj Mahal / 18. Venice / 20. Great Wall of China / 22. Hong Kong / 27. Paris / 30. Himalayas - Nepal / 34. Luxor - Egypt / 35. Rome / 42. Bangkok / 45. Terracotta Army - China

Out of all of these, the most awesome and beautiful was definately the Grand Canyon, so I'm really happy that it's at number one!!!
Another really amazing one was the Terracotta Army - the area it covers is much bigger than I ever thought it would be, and it's hard to believe that everyone of the figures are different, none of them are exactly the same!!

From the rest of the list, I'd love to see Petra, Angkor Wat, The Pyramids, Machu Picchu, Chichen Itza, Uluru, Yosemite National Park, The Great Barrier Reef, Galapagos and Iceland!

Hopefully I'm gonna get to Angkor Wat in Cambodia next year!!!
