Were you this fierce at this age?

Im in tears! And watch out for the cut-out paper hands pinned to his dress and the lighting display towards the end!

Re: Were you this fierce at this age?

Somehow I think this is an argument for the Born This Way? thread

Cool kid!!! Love the amateurness of the chair, the backdrop, the light flickering at the end and the outfit hehehe

And if your life were gold, how long do you think you'd stay living?

OMFG That was fucking hilarious. At first I thought he was doing this himself but the flashing lights at the end... I so hope it was his mom.

And here you are, a black unicorn.
Mythical and mystical since the day that you were born.

Right. That's probably the most disturbing part of it. That poor little boy. I wonder how old he is? I'll never understand why parents encourage this kind of behavior in children. It's never cute or funny to me.

Re: Were you this fierce at this age?

It's no worse than the beauty pageant type of culture that I understand is quite popular in American culture and heavily encouraged and imposed on young kids by their parents.

The kid's most likely having some fun, I don't think that's too bad. Don't most kids like to play dress up when they are young?

Sure. I loved playing dress up. But thank God my Mom never allowed me to saunter around doing sluttly dances on top of a chair while wearing a terrible outfit and filming it in my basement. I wonder if people would find this as "cute" if it were a little girl the same age as this boy dressed the same way and dancing the same way (like you said...similar to pageant culture which I find equally disturbing)? I doubt it. But I guess because he's a boy dressed like a girl it's ironic and funny. But it really isn't. It made me uncomfortable and feel a little sorry for the kid more than anything else.

I think you're reading too much into this. This isn't child abuse, it's a little nugget expressing himself through jazz hands and fishnets.

Re: Were you this fierce at this age?

I think the kid likes the attention. He seems to love dancing around like a slutty Liza Minelli in thigh-high fishnets.

sure it's "no worse", but since those beauty pageants are highly disturbing themselves, that doesn't say much.

Indeed. Now, I'm not going to pretend that I didn't laugh at the gif, but I'm not going to go watch the full thing. It's only funny for 5 seconds, until you realize that somebody put hours into training them to do that. Then I just get upset and start talking about bringing back eugenics, and everybody gets offended. As they ought to, really.
