Composer John Barry passes away

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-12321610

Sad to hear this...he wrote music to many classic movies, most famously the early to mid James Bond movies.

At his best his music was instantly recognisable and beautiful.

My favourite pieces would be from You Only Live Twice, and Midnight Cowboy.

RIP.

Manchester City 2011 FA Cup winners! 2012 Premier League Champions! 2014 League Cup winners and Premier League Champions! At last!!!!!

Sad news. RIP.

My favourites are 'Circus Circus' and 'Mr. Wint and Mr. Kidd' from Diamonds Are Forever.

aw, how sad i always adored his music. there's a track called "Seance On A Wet Afternoon" (great title!) that i must have listened to a thousand times. and his james bond tunes are just proper classics.

on a sidenote: did you know that he was jane birkin's 1st husband (before serge gainsbourg)? they also have a daughter, the photographer kate barry, charlotte gainsbourg's half-sister.
