Alabama law firm to Taco Bell: That's not beef

Source: Associated Press

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — An Alabama law firm claims in a lawsuit that Taco Bell is using false advertising when it refers to using "seasoned ground beef" or "seasoned beef" in its products.

The meat mixture sold by Taco Bell restaurants contains binders and extenders and does not meet the minimum requirements set by the U.S. Department of Agriculture to be labeled as "beef," according to the legal complaint.

The class-action lawsuit was filed Friday in federal court in the Central District of California by the Montgomery law firm Beasley, Allen, Crow, Methvin, Portis & Miles.

Attorney Dee Miles said attorneys had Taco Bell's "meat mixture" tested and found it contained less that 35 percent beef.

No wonder I hate fast food joints.

Taco Bell really sucks. I have had real TexMex in Texas and it is vastly superior to Taco Hell

Unhealthy crap (mostly concentrated gluten or soy jelly, and other things like that) with the same consistency as meat that allow these nasty restaurants to use as little meat as possible....

Someone needs to take a look at those "corn" tortilla chips, as well. They're probably 60% wallpaper paste.

When there's enough cheese (if that's what it really is ) mixed in, you can't tell it's not a cow you're eating. Guess I'll stick with the gerbil soft taco.

Re: Alabama law firm to Taco Bell: That's not beef

I thought most people knew that nothing remotely close to a cow ever passed through Taco Bell's kitchen

That's the way things are though. Most, people are lazy and want cheap and tasty food.

Eating healthy is expensive and time consuming.

In the end though, you are what you eat!

One nice thing about Texas is that there are many places one can buy home made and very real Tortilla shells.
