NYC Hotel help

Hey guys! I need some huge help, any comments are appreciated. People that are familiar with NYC and NYC travel:

Wellington Hotel
Hilton New York
Park South Hotel
The Marcel at Gramercy
Holiday Inn 6th Ave

Can anyone give advice regarding these hotels? Im a Grad Student and I wanna visit NYC, and Ive been looking at some package deals and those fall within my price range. Which one would you guys recommend?

BTW this thread has been made a million times huh?

Re: NYC Hotel help

i was recently planning a trip to ny but i changed my mind. i was going to stay at the marcel actually.

marcel is modern and in a great location - chelsea, the village, etc. younger crowd.

hilton and holiday inn? i wouldn't stay at a mass market brand in a place like nyc. that's just me.

park south hotel and wellington are just not my style.

if it's in your budget and you like the location and amenities enough, i'd go for the marcel.

i've lived in nyc and used to visit almost every weekend. i'm pretty familiar with it.

I live here, and I would agree, stay either at the Marcel or even Wellingtion, but if you can afford them.
