Susan Boyle - Wild Horses

She covered 'Wild Horses' from the Rolling Stones in her debut album 'I Dreamt A Dream'(not sure whether it's her first single).

Amazing.

Susan Boyle.

I don't even have to listen to it. I already know from her style that she won't do it justice.
There's a rock edge to Wild Horses that gives it its beauty.
When I listen to Wild Horse, it makes me think of being on the open road for days driving toward my lover.
The suttle passion is lacking.
The same passion that happened to be there in many of the songs that Robert Plant and Alison Krauss did together.

That's pretty ridiculous. To condemn something before hearing it.

Her version isn't my favorite, but it isn't bad. And many songs have been covered in completely different styles and been very successful. The version you like might have a "rock" vibe, but that doesn't mean it's the only way the song can be done.

Her cover does have the "rock" vibe anyway.

Daniel Letterle's version wasn't that good. My favorite is Sheryl Crow's.

Well that inspired me to get in touch with my inner Stones freak.

Are you an Alison Krauss fan? I love her. You just can't beat some of her songs, she has the voice of an angel.

Proud Blackjack!

Re: Susan Boyle - Wild Horses

I normally can't bear these 'manufactured' Cowell 'singers', but SB's version is quite pretty and she has some good phrasing. I'm surprised this song hasn't been covered by the likes of Leona Lewis before. Good luck to SB, she hasn't had much before and it's nice she is having success at this time in her life - I hope she enjoys her moments of glory and gets to make a few quid.

Monica Seles Superstar. Her fans never forget.

Players I root for now: Heather, Laura, Lucie, Marion, Serena, Simona, Svetlana, Venus, Vika. And Caroline.
Doubles and Mixed Doubles are fun and underrated.

Re: Susan Boyle - Wild Horses

Wild Horses is one of my favourite Rolling Stones songs, I think she did a pretty nice job with the cover. The first verse seemed a bit stilted and more could have been done with the vocal arrangement, but she did put some emotion into the second half to give it a bit of a lift.

Melanie Oudin, Kiki Bertens, Kaia Kanepi, Alison Riske
