I sympathize for the fact that Lindsay clearly did not grow up in a particularly stable, or healthy home environment with her parents as a child, and through her formative years, and I also have no doubt that people who are child stars go through a different life that has to be challenging...But there also comes a point where we have to realize that Lindsay is now 23 years old, and ultimately no longer the responsibility of her parents. She is an adult now, and regardless of whatever issues she had growing up, she has to be made accountable for her actions being her own. It is up to Lindsay to decide what she wants to do with her life now, and whether she wants to use her experiences as a way to be a stronger person and seek help where necessary, or to continue to make poor choices that only further hurt herself. I hope that she can work out whatever issues she is going through, but I think we need to move on from the parent talk. Lindsay's a very immature, but grown woman now, so she needs to own whatever choices she makes as an adult...
well yes, you're correct. shes an adult woman now and she needs to take responsibility for herself. and i think the best thing would be for her to go to rehab and start going to a therapist.
you're wrong in saying that what happened to her as a child doesnt effect how you are as an adult. most drug addicts have some trumatic incident that happened to them along the way that made them start using. nobody wakes up one day and says "im gonna start snorting coke!
" her father was an addict, so at a young age, she was exposed to destructive behaivor piled ontop of her dads abusive behavior, her mom being crazy and putting all this pressure on her with her acting.
at this point, its not about whose fault it is for doing what. the real focus should be getting linds into a good treatment program and have her and her family to go to counseling. that is the best way for her to take control of her life again and start really living. cause lets face it, this girl isnt really far away from winding up another young celebrity whose life was cut short.
