Question height difference in couples

What is your opinion of it? Any preferences? Any experiences?

I'm about 172cm tall (around 5"8) and am starting to get self-conscious about my height (i think its a perfectly good height, but i've been getting lots of comments lately about how i'm quite tall for an asian girl)

I'm also into this guy who's about a cm shorter than me. I've never had any experiences with shorter guys... should I go for it? your thoughts?

Williams, Mauresmo, Cornet, Kuznetsova, Petrova, Safina, Jankovic, Ivanovic, Hantuchova, K. Bondarenko, Zheng, Sugiyama, all Aussies

Re: height difference in couples

Go for it. You're into him! It's not as though anyone is forcing you to like a guy who's shorter than yourself.

As it stands, short guys are at a disadvantage attracting people just because of their height. They don't need people who're actually attracted to them to overlook them for the same reason.

And besides, looks is just one small part of the overall equation, and height is just one small part of looks.

If you're still concerned about the height difference, then remember that 1 cm is basically negligible.

A single flow'r he sent me, since we met./All tenderly his messenger he chose;
Deep-hearted, pure, with scented dew still wet - One perfect rose.
I knew the language of the floweret;/'My fragile leaves,' it said, 'his heart enclose.'
Love long has taken for his amulet/One perfect rose.
Why is it no one ever sent me yet/One perfect limousine, do you suppose?
Ah no, it's always just my luck to get/One perfect rose.

5' 8" is tall for an Asian... if you are a Japanese.

At the moment, a tall Asian girl is defined as 5' 10".

Re: height difference in couples

172cm is a good height. You don't want to be too short and a lot of asian guys now exceed 172cm for sure. I hope my sister can reach your height.

And if your life were gold, how long do you think you'd stay living?

Re: height difference in couples

I don't get the appeal of taller women. Okay, I get the appeal - they can look hot. But I don't think I can do a long term relationship thing with someone with a significant height difference.

1 cm is nothing. I'm 170cm. Hello 2009! I've only met a couple of Asian girls taller than me. And when they're taller than me they're significantly taller like 180cm or something.

You're definitely above average for an Asian girl.

Re: height difference in couples

The guy I'm seeing now is like 6'2", I'm like 6'4". But he's the top!
LOL

I don't know if that's relevant or not, but in some ways I think people would assume I would be.
Not sure what is the best thing in straight relationships though.

Re: height difference in couples

I think there were very many references to homosexual life up there ("he's a top!", "I don't know how it works in straight relationships") to infer that I am a guy.

Re: height difference in couples

Women and girls in general seem to be getting taller, on a big scale in some cases too. Slightly off-topic but i remember there was this girl who was at least 3 years younger than me was at least 6'3. I joke not, and this was a girl of 16.

God knows how tall she'll grow

You'd think given that she was a model she would have some dress sense, but no. His suit is just as awful.

ugh.
