Help: Queen Elizabeth Historiography!!!

Hey guys,

I'm about to do my HSC (exams in NSW, Australia) and basically have no clue about Elizabeth historiography!!! If anyone has any resources or has any tips, please PM me or reply in this thread.

The three areas I am looking at are:
- Identity and gender
- Religion
- Political and administrative leadership.

I'm looking at what historians have had to say about these things about Elizabeth's life. E.g. Elton, Neale, Haigh, Doran, Basnett, etc.

Thanks.

Clijsters, Henin, Dementieva, Davenport.

Yeah, Appeasement's easy, "Did Hitler plan for war or not?" that's basically the main debate.

What do you actually debate about in QE case study?

Her identity, gender, marriage, whether she was a virgin queen etc, blah blah blah.

Lol. Hey olympus, feeling sad that the Olympics were over?

Re: Help: Queen Elizabeth Historiography!!!

That sounds lame. Appeasement is much better.

Yeah, i am, the buzz and excitement's gone. Now time for intense study mode until HSC's over

Re: Help: Queen Elizabeth Historiography!!!

OK. She was born in 1533 to Henry VIII and his second wife Anne Boleyn, who he married (having to break the Church of England off from the Vatican to divorce his first, Catherine of Aragon, because she couldn't bear him a male heir and England had never had a female monarch). Anne didn't either, and err, "lost her head" a few years later.

Henry finally did with the 3rd of his 6 wives, Jane Seymour (who would be resurrected centuries later to play Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman) but "poor rich kid" Edward VI died as a teenager, and Lizzy became Queen in 1558. Her 45 year reign's highlight was the English defeat of the Spanish Armada in 1588, establishing the Brits as the pre-eminent naval power for ova 3 centuries hence.

(If you were looking for information on some more recent figurehead monarch better known for her dysfunctional family, can't you there).
