I just thought she deserved a thread. She has been dominating her sport since the mid-90's. She's absolutely amazing. She has been through different patches of rivals and always still dominated her. Louise Sauvage, Elisa Stankowicz, Louise Roy, Edith Hunkeler and this year especially everyone kept saying how Tatyana McFadden would be dangerous. Chantal kept winning still.
In Athens and this year in Beijing, she has won the gold in every distance she competed in. 5 golds in 5 events in 2 consecutive Paralympics.
There's no words for a performance like that.
On Sunday, she won her prelims in the 200 setting a new WR and then went on to win the final, smashing the WR she had just set by more than 1 second, becoming the first athlete to race that distance in less than 28 seconds. Then, only two hours later, she had to race the 800. Different strategy, different effort management. She started first and never looked back, winning it, shaving more than 2 SECONDS off her own WR. That's how impressive she is.
