That's called the President's Cup, which is held every altnerative year that the ryder cup isn't held.

Looking forward to the ryder's cup next week, i expect europe to be too good.

No, not really. but it's still an important event. And it's the only way it's done. ryder Cup is famous for being a team event between USA and europe, why would they change that

I have a feeling the US could spring a surprise, because Faldo is a bad pick for Captain. Great player though he was, he is arrogant and has alienated half the team with the Poulter over Clarke pick.

Hope we can we despite him though.

Manchester City 2011 FA Cup winners! 2012 Premier League Champions! 2014 League Cup winners and Premier League Champions! At last!!!!!

No, but thats not the point. Ryder Cup is EUROPE vs. USA, and Presiden'ts cup is the WORLD vs. Usa. They're different competitions, and your post doesn't really make sense because the World already fields a competitive team against the US.

It makes to me, I would like to see South America and Australia/Oceania to participate in such prestigious cup as Ryder.

The Presidents Cup is kind of dumb. It's supposed to be USA vs the world yet they don't let the Europeans join. Better to make it Western Hemisphere vs. Eastern and let Cabrerra, Weir, Romero, Villegas, and Ames play with the Americans.

Blowing out someone else's candle does not make yours shine brighter.

I actually really like the two formats. Europe vs. USA is claaaassic, and "World" vs. USA has some great eclectic players from across the globe (duh haha) that IMO brings a different vibe to the whole thing.

Huh, it's not meant to be the world, just the internationals outside of europe.

You can't just create prestige, it's gained over time. The Ryder Cup is important because it's been a storied competiton over many years. The ultimate goal is that the Preisdents Cup gains in prestige over the years and in 20 or 30 years be very important.
