Farewell Kim Gevaert !

Tonight she ran the last race of her career the 100 meters at the Memorial Van Damme where she won with 11"25. It was an emmotional moment for all the people in the Roi Boudouin/Koning Boudewijn stadion, also the pers and all who watched the Memorial. The farewell of a magnificient woman who brought the Belgian athletic at a very high level. She recieved many standing ovations, flowers, gifts thrown from the stands. A mangificient night to close Kim's career. Thx for everything Kim, you will be very hard missed but enjoy now your new life.

for a magnificient sportwoman and woman in general

Kim I never knew you were retiring! First Lena loses, now this... could it get any worse?
Hope you have a lovely life away from the track

Re: Farewell Kim Gevaert !

Kim wasn't my fav runner, but she always seemed to be a very nice person, plus she brought Belgian athletics to a whole new level. She will be missed by many. I wish Kim good luck in her new life and I hope she'll be as successful off the track, as she was on it

WTA GERMANS STAN!
