Wimbledon 2009 tickets.

Hey everyone, I just have a few questions regarding getting tickets at next years Wimbledon.

I see that you have to enter a ballot to get main court seats. So do you just send an empty envelope to the address given on the website, and they send back the application to you to fill out?
For those of you who have done this before, is it worth doing? Is there a good chance I’ll get tickets? If we did win, when/how do we pay?
I know that people who leave early re-sell their main court tickets, is it easier to buy these?

This’ll be my first time going, and I’ll be there for maybe 3 days, and definitely would love to be on the main courts just once. Any help would be appreciated!

Yup, you just send the envolope to the ballot pretty early, and then if you get tickets the'll send you a letter saying the court and date you got. Then you send money. I entred i twoce and got Center Court tickets both times- first for R3 and Second time for 2. I gues its worth doing... Whats the worst that could happen? You don't win

Yes people sell their tickets. It's much cheape to buy these but they go on sale at like 5.30pm that day, soo you'll see 4 hours max.

Hope this helps, If you have any other questions just ask

Thanks for replying

That sounds pretty good! When you say that you entered twice, do you mean in the same year, or for 2 different years? It says on the website that only one application per household is allowed. And if you win, you just sit wherever the hell you want, as long as you get there first?
And the ballot only gives 2 tickets right? I am going with 2 other ppl, so its a bit of a problem...

Yeah you get two tickets per household. I entered in 2 different years.. No.. it has a seat number on it, so you have to sit there.... You can try sitting whereever you want, but you wont get in as there are guards checking your tickets. Yeah that could be a problem. Unless you buy another ticjet from somewhere

Re: Wimbledon 2009 tickets.

^Agreed. I went to the US Open last year, ticketmaster is so much easier. But I kinda regret not going on Arthur Ashe, that's why I really want to live it up at Wimbledon, heh.

Ugh are you serious? I swear I read somewhere that it's first come first serve. I guess that's what I meant by if its worth it. If you do win tickets, but they aren't great seats to you, or they give you a day thats not suitable to you, are you allowed to decline them or are you stuck with them and have to sell them yourself?

The only other tickets are grounds passes, and you can buy those only on the day of right? And grounds passes allow you to go to which courts?
